Height Site's 6ft5 Testers Pick
Headroom 10 out of 10
Wow lots of room to spare, wish my legs had it so good
Slope 10 out of 10
No noticable slope or window tinting to interfere with visibility
Lateral Space 10 out of 10
No leg rubbing against the center console good placement of interior items.
Horizontal Space 5 out of 10
Great movement of steering wheel up and out of the way, but still not enough to accommodate knee clearance with such poor legroom
Legroom 2 out of 10
Seat pitch is perfect but the low marks come from the limited amount of movement available to push the seat back.

Overall: If the seat could go back a little further and this would be the perfect vehicle for a 7-footer.

Honda Element

The Height Site put together a group of four really tall drivers to tour the San Francisco Auto Show. After trying about fifty different vehicles, our 6ft5 Driver picked the Honda Element.

MSRP Range:
$16,100 - $21,100

The 2004 Element that HS Testers examined was a 5-door, 4-passenger sport-utility.

Tallest Estimated Drivers

Proportioned: 6ft6 maybe, 6ft5 definately
Long Torso: 6ft8 maybe, Possible taller depending on legroom required.
Long Legs: 35in inseam definately, up to a 37in inseam possible; depends on torso length.

Height Site Team Comments

6ft5 = I love it, it's got great cargo capacity and I don't mind the boxy look.
6ft7 = Doable, but not for long distances. The boxy look is kinda lame too.
6ft11 = 64 seat configurations and not one will give me the seat position I need most to increase the available legroom.

2004 Element's Closest Competitors

The Buick Rendezvous (HS TESTERS = Couldn't evaluate because no power to move the seats but interior looks way to plastic and cheap for a $40k vehicle)

The Mitsubishi Montero Sport (HS TESTERS = Couldn't evaluate because no power to move the seats)

The Toyota RAV4 (HS TESTERS = Steering wheel a little too low for 6ft7 reviewer but it is still his "best of the show" pick. The 6ft11 reviewer said the seat pitch felt too weird and may be the cause of the overwhelming cramped feel to the interior).

If you love the look and you can afford an upgrade, the Element's silhoutette is similar to the Mercedes G-Class.

If you drive a great car or truck,
we would love to hear about it!
Please tell us about it.
